Product Overview

Safe-Guard Dewormer Cattle Pellets is a strategic deworming program for stocker cattle and dairy and calf operations. The active ingredient is fenbendazole, which removes and controls lungworms, stomach worms, barberpole worms, brown stomach worms, small stomach worms, intestinal worms, hookworms, thread-necked intestinal worms, bankrupt worms, and nodular worms. Pellets are approximately 1 inch long.

*NOTE: This 50 lb is .05% Fenbendazole, with an application rate of 1 lb per 100 lb body weight for cattle due to the less active ingredient. Other size Safe-Guard pellets have a higher percentage of active Fenbendazole .5% and the application rate is 1 lb per 1000 lb body weight for cattle.

**You may receive this product in plain brown packaging.  It is still the same product with the active ingredient manufactured by Merck.**

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

SWINE: Mix 200 lb of Safeguard Cattle and Swine Dewormer with 1800 lb of feed ingredients to manufacture a feed containing 22.7 mg/lb of fenbendazole. Feed this mixture as the sole ration at the rate of 18 lb per 100 pound bodyweight over a 3-12 day period to provide a total of 4.1 mg of fenbendazole per pound of bodyweight (9 mg/kg).

Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Swine maintained under conditions of constant worm exposure may require retreatment within four weeks after the first treatment due to reinfection.

CATTLE: For a one-day therapeutic treatment for dairy and beef cattle, mix 1 lb of Safe-Guard Dewormer per 100 lb of body weight into the daily ration. Feed as the sole ration for one day to provide 227 mg of fenbendazole per 100 lb of body weight (5 mg/kg).

Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. No milk withdrawal required.

WARNING: Cattle must not be slaughtered within 13 days following last treatment. For dairy cattle, there is no milk withdrawal period. A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.
