Ramik Mole and Gopher Bait is designed to help protect your lawns and flower beds against pesky rodents. It contains first-generation anticoagulant Diphacinone as its active ingredient which effectively kills moles and gophers to prevent them from damaging your property. It also contains food quality grain mix and they are made using a unique processing technology to produce a highly palatable formula to ensure high acceptance and effectiveness. These fish-flavored nuggets also feature a weather-resistant formula without wax so it works efficiently in both dry and wet conditions. It is intended for residential use to control moles and gophers in below-ground applications. Available in 1 lb. jar.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

READ THIS LABEL: Read this label and follow all use directions, use restrictions, and use precautions.

USE RESTRICTIONS:

This product may only be applied at the use sites and by the application methods indicated on this label.
This product may only be used to control moles or pocket gophers in manual, below-ground applications. There are State-specific limitations on use of this product to control moles.
Bait must be applied directly into moles’ or pocket gophers’ burrow systems.
Any person who retrieves carcasses or unused bait following application of this product must wear waterproof gloves.
Do not apply this product in gardens where food or feed may become contaminated.
Do not apply this product by means of an artificial burrow builder.

MOLES

Not approved for the control of moles in the following States: California, Hawaii, Indiana, and New Hampshire For use only against the eastern mole (Scalopus aquaticus) and the Hairy-tailed mole (Parascalops breweri) in North Carolina. Not for use against the star-nosed mole (Condylura cristata parva) in North Carolina.

Lawns

The presence of moles may be indicated by a network of surface ridges in the turf, by a series of conical mounds of earth pushed up from deep burrows, or by damage to flower bulbs.

Surface Ridges: Prior to treatment, determine which tunnels are active by pressing down (flattening) on a small section of the tunnel or by removing a one-inch section of the tunnel’s roof. Mark these disturbed sections and recheck them in 24 hours. The tunnel is considered to be active if the flattened runway has been raised up or its roof has been repaired. Only treat active tunnels. Using a long-handled spoon, carefully punch a hole in the top of each active tunnel, insert a teaspoon of bait product, and carefully reclose the hole with sod or a stone. Do not collapse the tunnel again or allow loose soil to cover the bait. Using this method, treat all active tunnels at intervals of 10 to 15 feet. After a few days, check to see if the tunnels still are active by using one of the two methods described above. Retreat the tunnels that remain active.

Conical Mounds: Using a long-handled spoon, carefully remove the center plug from each conical mound. Through the hole just created, drop a teaspoon of bait into the underground tunnel. Close the opening with a rock or sod. Do not allow loose dirt to cover bait. Treat all conical mounds in this manner. If mole activity persists several days after one treatment, additional treatments may be made at intervals of 3 to 4 days.

Flower Bulb Protection (Fall Planted)

Pack about one-quarter inch of soil against each flower bulb. Place several pellets at sides of and around each bulb. Then, cover the bulbs with soil.

POCKET GOPHERS

Lawns

Burrowing pocket gophers (Thomomys spp. and Geomys spp.) throw out low, fan-shaped mounds on either side of their underground tunnels. These lateral tunnels that come to the surface are on the flat side of the fan and are plugged with soil. With a long-handled spoon, carefully remove the plug. Insert 4 ounces of this product as far down the lateral tunnel as possible. Reclose the opening, being careful not to cover the bait with soil.

FOLLOW-UP (Moles and Pocket Gophers)

Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals and dispose of leftover bait in accordance with the disposal directions on this label. Use detergent and hot water to wash spoons. Do not use spoon for mixing, holding, or transferring food or feed. If reinfestation occurs, repeat treatment.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

This product is extremely toxic to mammals, birds and other wildlife. Dogs, cats and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten this bait. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not allow bait to be exposed on soil surface. Do not apply where runoff is likely to occur. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water or rinsate.
