Product Overview

Howard Johnsons Dimension 0.27G Herbicide is a granular pre-emergent herbicide used for season-long control or suppression of listed annual grasses and broadleaf weeds including poa annua, bittercress, carpetweed, chickweed, crabgrass, oxalis, and spurge (see label for complete list).  Containing the active ingredient Dithiopyr, this weed preventer is recommended for use in established cool and warm season lawns, ornamental landscape areas, ornamental turf (including golf course fairways, roughs and tee boxes) and container and field-grown nursery ornamentals.   This product can be very dusty.  Please use caution when opening or applying. 

While this weed preventer does not control established weeds, it does provide control of crabgrass in the early stages of development as long as applications are made to crabgrass prior to the first tiller or 3-leaf growth phase.

Instructions:

  • Primary Usage: Prevents Grasses, Weeds
  • Application Method: Spreader
  • Application Season: Fall; Spring; Summer.
    • This product may be applied as a single application or as a split application
  • Use Instructions: Apply this product with drop or rotary-type spreaders designed to apply granular herbicides. Calibrate application equipment prior to usage, and apply this product uniformly over the turfgrass area. A more uniform application can be made by spreading half of the required amount over the area and then applying the remaining half at a right angle to the previous direction of application.
