IGRs have a residual effect, meaning the product is effective for an extended amount of time, disrupting the pests' life cycle and preventing future generations from developing into troublesome adults. This makes IGRs a sustainable solution for persistent pest problems. They can ensure long-term control and reduce the need for frequent applications. Insect growth regulators offer a more targeted approach than other pesticides. They act specifically on the developmental stages of the pest you are treating for.
Since IGR's address only the problem of reproduction but do not actually kill the adult insect, it is always a good idea to use other pest control products along with the IGR for ultimate population control. Liquid IGRS and liquid Insecticides can also be tank mixed in one single application. Always check each product label prior to mixing to ensure mixing compatibility.
